What We Believe

Statement of Faith

1.     We believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the authoritative Word of God.  It is the whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man’s salvation, faith, and life.  [2 Timothy 3:16-17]

2.     We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.  [Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14]

3.     We believe in the fall of man through the disobedience and sin of Adam and that now, no man is able to justify himself before God.  All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His holy character, both by nature and in action, and the central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was for the salvation and redemption of mankind.  [Genesis 3, Romans 5:12-19, Romans 6:23, Matthew 5:17, Luke 19:10]

4.     We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.  He was God come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man.  [John 1:1-18, Revelation 22:12]

5.     We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary before true faith can be exercised.  [John 3:5-8, Titus 3:5, Romans 7:6]

6.     We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace, and responded to by personal faith in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, alone.  [John 3:15-17, Ephesians 2:8, Titus 2:14, Romans 10:9]

7.     We believe that faith without works is dead.  [James 2:14-26]

8.     We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.  We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person proceeding from the Father and Son and is therefore eternal, and of the same essence, majesty, and glory with the Father and Son.  We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are irrevocable, active, and enduring through this age, for the benefit of believers and non-believers alike and for the purpose of edification, in love.  [John 14:16-17, Ephesians 1:13-14, Acts 5:3-4, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11]

9.     We believe in the physical resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that they are saved to the resurrection of eternal life and the lost to the resurrection of judgement and everlasting separation from the presence of the Lord.  [1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10, Revelation 20:1-5]

10.  We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. [1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Colossians 1:18]

11.  We believe children are a heritage from the Lord and that God has given parents the responsibility and authority to educate and train their children according to the Word of God.  [Psalm 127:3, Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4]
